Pet Appliance Rental in Korea for Foreigners | From ₩6,900/mo
If you brought a dog or a cat to Korea, or adopted one after arriving, you will have met a category of appliance that barely exists elsewhere. A pet drying room is a cabinet your dog stands in after a bath while warm air circulates, and Korean households buy them because the alternative — a towel and a hairdryer in a small bathroom — takes a long time and does not really work on a double coat in a humid August. Grooming vacuums clip on and pull the loose fur into a canister instead of into your rug. These are bulky, and they are the sort of thing you would not ship home at the end of a posting, which is exactly the case where a monthly rental beats a purchase. There are 27 pet items available to rent right now, from ₩6,900 a month, with no large deposit. SETKORA is a rental broker, not the contracting party — you apply in your own language, one of 15, and we handle the Korean-language process with the rental company.

Frequently asked questions
Can foreigners rent pet appliances in Korea?
Usually yes, and the conditions are the same as for any other household rental rather than anything pet-specific. Rental companies typically ask for an ARC and a Korean bank account or card in your own name, and some look at how much of your stay is left. Each company sets its own rules, so confirm during consultation instead of assuming.
What is a pet drying room, and is it worth renting?
It is an enclosed cabinet that circulates warm air around the animal after a bath, instead of you holding a hairdryer. The case for renting rather than buying is mostly about the object itself: it takes up roughly the footprint of a small washing machine, it is awkward to resell, and almost nobody ships one home. If your dog has a thick or double coat, or you are in a small flat where a wet dog and a bathroom do not mix, it is the item in this category people ask about first. Whether it suits your animal is worth checking with your vet — we rent appliances and do not give veterinary advice.
Do I need permission from my landlord to keep a pet?
That is between you and your lease, not something a rental company decides. Many Korean leases include a clause on pets and some buildings have house rules of their own, so read the contract or ask the landlord or building office before you commit to anything — including a rental that assumes an animal lives there. Renting an appliance does not change what your lease allows.
What if I move house or leave Korea before the term ends?
Moving within Korea is normally just an address change you report to the rental company. Ending early is the part to plan for: the contract length and any early-termination charge are set by each rental company, and SETKORA is not the contracting party. If you already know your departure date, or that your pet is leaving with you, raise it during consultation before you sign.
Rental, subscription, lease — what is the difference?
Mostly the name. You pay a monthly fee to use the appliance, and when the contract term ends you either keep it or return it. Korean brands label the same structure 'rental', 'subscription' or 'membership'. What actually differs is the contract length, the monthly fee and whether installation is included — that varies by product and is confirmed during consultation.
How long is the contract, and what if I cancel early?
Most items listed here run on a 60-month contract; some are 36, 48 or 72 months. Cancelling early can trigger a settlement for the remaining term, and the amount and method follow the rental company's own terms. We confirm the exact contract conditions for your item during consultation, before you apply.
